About Me
I'm a product designer with over a decade of experience designing web and mobile apps. As a lifelong puzzle enthusiast, I love tackling complex problems, whether that means creating an intuitive interface for a complex workflow or a scalable design system.
I was the first design hire at Lumi, where I spent six years launching 0→1 products, including a marketplace connecting e-commerce brands and packaging suppliers. In this startup environment I honed my skills at sketching out ideas and quickly generating diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.
I’m also a bit of a streamlining enthusiast. As someone who loathes tedium, I always look for the most efficient and systematic way to do things. For this reason, I love creating design systems and am quick to adopt new Figma features.
While I've always held roles with designer in the title, I also enjoy coding. I build my personal projects myself, including this site and my wine-locating tool Scout. I hope to incorporate more coding in my future design roles.
I'm currently open to freelance or full-time work—download my resume. If you have a role that sounds like a good fit, email me at bethanynue@gmail.com ☺︎
Hobbies & Interests
When I’m not working, I like to disconnect from technology and connect with the physical world. Often, this means hiking or exploring one of the many scenic parks in California. Other times, this means sitting behind a pottery wheel, turning a ball of clay into a usable object.
I'm an avid reader and am currently reading 'When We Cease to Understand the World' by Benjamin Labatut, a "fictional examination of the lives of real-life scientists and thinkers whose discoveries resulted in moral consequences beyond their imagining." 💫
